The Dev
Hi, I'm Ed Wilding, and I have a dog that needs a lot of walks. Obligatory dog pic included.
When I was doing research online for where to walk it seemed that very few sites took the time to map their routes and relied on written descriptions. Even fewer mentioned how dog friendly the walks were.
I thought that was really crap because landmarks change and dogs are great, so I decided to put my skills as a web developer to use and make this site.
I discover and plan my routes using a mixture of OS maps, google satellite view and occassionally those difficult to follow written descriptions.
If you would like to get in touch to add your own walks or discuss the site please do at Edward.Wilding3@gmail.com
The Criteria
In all criteria higher scores are better (unless you're a masochist and like long hard boring walks!).
Easiness
This is a balance between steepness of climbs, elevation change, overall length and how slippery the paths can get.
Dog Friendly
Basically a measure of how often my dog was on the lead. Obviously this will change depending on where the farmers decide to put their livestock and how unruly your dog is etc.
Scenery
Kind of speaks for itself, all the walks have great scenery, I mean, it IS the peak district after all. But some are better than others.
